Ways to start reading –

Reading is fun, don’t be intimidated by the fact of reading books. It is very easy to start if you keep the following things in mind:

1. Choose what you want to read

You have to find what will hook you in a book for a longer time. Start with a book that inspires your personal interest. If you like fiction, don’t overthink just choose fiction as your first pick.

2. Set time and goal for reading

The best time to read is at night, just before you go to bed but you can set your time for the day according to your routine.
Always try to read at least 10-15 pages daily without getting disturbed while reading.

3. Give your brain halt from social media

If you struggle to put your phone down at times, give your brain some social media detox. Mobile phones increase anxiety,  insecurity in humans and also hinders your sleep at night. So, put your phone down at least an hour before you go to bed and grab your book.
4. Read to your kids

You can make a difference in your child’s life with your voice. Read to your baby since birth for few minutes daily. Hearing a parent’s voice at a young age promotes hearing comfort in a child’s brain and this increases their exposure to books, better pronunciation, vocabulary, and understanding of language.
The Takeaway
  • Reading lights up your imagination.
  • Reading stimulates better concentration.
  • Reading before bed will help you sleep better.
  • You will learn from others’ experiences while reading.
  • Reading alleviates social media anxiety, insecurity, and depression.
  • Reading makes you more empathetic towards others’ mental states.

I’m not advocating you to become book worms but we all must create our reading cycle and read something good and different from our social media eccentric world to enhance our creativity.
