WORKING OUT IS NOT A PUNISHMENT
“If you want something, you never had before.
You should be willing to do something, you haven’t done before.”
Why does it feel like a punishment?
1. You never made a proper plan.
Just like heading into a new country without any road map is not sane enough.
Fitness without any discipline and routine will not be sustainable enough for a longer time.

- Start by setting small goals every day to reach your final goal.
- Plan your goals, if it seems difficult in the beginning start by writing them down.
- Design your daily workout sessions according to your body goals.
- Pin your “Fitness To-Do-List” somewhere where you can see it for example, on your work desk.
- Design your daily goals a day prior. Keep a journal of your daily fitness goals and track yourself at the end of every month.
- Join a social community or a support group (online/offline) with people who have similar goals. Discuss your goals and vision with them.

2. Restriction is not the key.
Sadly, the majority of the people have this issue to go on a very low-calorie diet. Every time they do this, their metabolic rate slows down as a result you will lose good lean tissue.
To stop this, you need to stop restricting yourself from healthy food and try to spike the rate of your metabolism, this happens when you do the following:
- Eat clean and homemade food.
- Indulge in at least 15-20 minutes of cardio or HIIT workouts twice or thrice a week, for example skipping, running, swimming or cycling.
- If you are a beginner start slow and work on your body posture.
- Avoid eating refined, packed, canned and processed food.
- Eat a good source of protein, carbs and healthy fats as per your daily intake.
3. Choose what you enjoy.
Be where you belong. Finding a routine that you enjoy is very important, if you’re unable to enjoy the process of fitness, then you won’t feel motivated to practice it regularly.
So, choose a fitness routine that you love to practice religiously every day, even on your worst days.
- If you are a beginner, consider where you want to work out.
- Do you prefer to work out in the comfort of your own home or at a gym?
- Do not try to copy others, only you will decide which road you want to be on.
- The idea is to choose wisely and learn gradually, if you are fond of gym, practice strength training or if you desire to learn yoga, start following a yogi’s lifestyle.
Exercise not only helps you burn extra calories, it also makes you feel better.
My friend! Fitness is a long journey and to be consistent try to find a routine that you enjoy, so it can become a part of your lifestyle.
4. Being impatient and setting the bar too high.
People who follow all the above-mentioned points still quit, this is because they are not patient enough while setting their goals or they aim too high in the beginning.
Many people aim to achieve unrealistic goals like, to lose 10 kg in 10 days. Setting goals can be motivating, only if practised correctly.

- This behaviour leads to a lack of motivation and makes you feel that fitness is a punishment.
- Be realistic with your goals.
- Focus on the small steps.
- Believe in your journey.
- A seed takes years to develop into a tree and humans are no different. So, give yourself proper rest, different styles of training and good nutrition.
Always remember, good things take time and learn to give yourself some time.
Conclusion
After working on the above-mentioned aspects, you can walk ahead onto the path of a long-term and sustainable healthy lifestyle.
Different people get motivated by different factors.
You just need to figure out, what drives you..!?
